| Perifusion System |
The islets of Langerhans act as natural sensors of glucose in the pancreas. We have developed a perifusion system which enables a group of islets to be bathed with different solutions containing varying concentrations of glucose and/or secretagoges in a controlled temperature environment. The perfusing fluid is pushed by a peristaltic pump through a column containing the islets, and the perfusate is collected in a 96 well plate for further analysis. The well plate moves automatically accordingly to the number of columns in use and the preset sampling rate. The well plate is kept to the desired temperature using an external water or alcohol circulating unit. The actual model allows accommodating from 1 to 4 columns at a time. This perifusion machine is being used as a tool to assess the quality of the islets prior to transplantation.

| Bone Marrow Tumbler |
This equipment removes remains of BM from the chips obtained from the Bone Marrow Machine. This machine provides a brace to connect the lid of a Nalgene jar. The chips are introduced into the Nalgene jar fitted with a arm and filled with media. The machine has a rotational motion. The chips will rotate in the jar releasing or washing away the remaining Bone Marrow, after which the media is collected and later purified.
Note: Nalgene jar is not included.
